Born 7th
July, 1950, Professor J. O. Enaohwo, who is a pioneer/foundation staff of the
University of Port Harcourt, is a product of the University of Ibadan, and the
University of Wales, U.K. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Second
Class Supper Division, 1975) a Master’s (1977) and Ph.D (1980) in Educational
Planning and Economics or Education. He is author of over seventy-five
publications, including two major tertiary level textbooks. Having been
appointed a full Professor in October 1987, his current research is focused on
“Gender and Women Empowerment in Higher Education”. on the international scene,
he was visiting professor at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada,
External Examiner, University of Zimbabwe, Benin and Ahmadu Bello. A Member of
the International society for Educational Planning; Commonwealth Council for
Educational Administration, and Organizing Member of the international
Intervisitation Program in Educational Administration (IIP’82), the nominee is
cited in Marqui’s Who’s who, and the International Directory of Distinguished
Leadership. Besides, he is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary International,
Evanston, USA and past president of the club. Professor Enaohwo is a former Head
of Department of Educational Management, University of Port Harcourt; Provost
and Chief Executive of a college of Education for seven years, and Director,
Institute of Education. In 1999, he was appointed Chairman of the Visitation
Panel to Federal College of Education (Technical) Gusau. He was also Director,
College of Continuing Education, University of Port Harcourt from 2002-2004 and
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), in the same University, from 2002-2004.
currently, Prof. J. O. Enaohwo is the Vice-Chancellor, Delta State University,
Abaraka, Delta State.
